Play through the Ryujinx emulator on PC. You'll need a legally-acquired copy of Super Mario Bros. 35 and console keys for the emulator to work; this guide doesn't provide either.
Mario35 Revamped Redirect folder before unzipping the new one. Unzipping over it leaves old files behind, and an old Special Battle file would replace the new one.Mario35 Revamped Content folder from an older install, delete that too.Download and install Ryujinx (or a maintained fork such as Ryubing) from its official site.
Click Install Keys in Ryujinx's top toolbar, then select your prod.keys.
Click Install Firmware in Ryujinx's top toolbar, then select a firmware file/ZIP that matches your keys' version. Ver 22 recommended.
Add your SMB35 base game file (NSP/XCI) to Ryujinx's game list.
Right-click the game and choose Manage Title Updates, click Add, select the 1.02 update file, make sure it's checked, then Save.
Right-click the game and choose Open Mod Directory, then unzip the patch you downloaded above straight into that folder. It contains one folder, Mario35 Revamped Redirect (with its exefs subfolder already inside). Don't rename it or pull the .ips file out on its own.
Right-click the game and choose Manage Mods, then make sure Mario35 Revamped Redirect is checked.
From Ryujinx's top menu, open Options → Settings → Network, then enable Guest Internet Access/LAN Mode.
Start Super Mario Bros. 35 as normal. You'll connect straight to Mario 35 Revamped, no extra setup needed in-game.
Manage Title Updates and make sure the 1.02 update is added and checked.Cache Management → Purge PPTC Cache) and fully restart Ryujinx.Play on real Switch hardware running Atmosphère, placing the redirect patch on your SD card by hand, no mod manager required. You'll need Atmosphère already installed and booting, and a legally-acquired copy of Super Mario Bros. 35 at title version 1.0.2; this guide doesn't cover either of those.
atmosphere/contents/0100277011F1A000/romfs/Dat/sp_battle.dat from the SD card if it is there. It came with an older patch and would replace the new Special Battle.Fully shut the console down first, then eject the SD card and connect it to your PC (built-in reader or a USB adapter).
Unzip the patch you downloaded above on your PC. It contains a single atmosphere folder.
Copy the atmosphere folder to the top level of the SD card, the same level as any existing Nintendo or bootloader folder, not inside another folder. If the card already has an atmosphere folder from other mods, choose merge when prompted, not replace.
Eject the SD card safely from your PC, put it back in the Switch, and power the console on into Atmosphère as you normally would.
Start Super Mario Bros. 35 as normal. You'll connect straight to Mario 35 Revamped, no extra setup needed in-game.
atmosphere sits at the SD card's top level, not nested inside an extra folder left over from unzipping.Play on real Switch hardware running Atmosphère, using SimpleModManager to install the redirect patch. You'll need Atmosphère already installed and booting, SimpleModManager installed as a homebrew app, and a legally-acquired copy of Super Mario Bros. 35 at title version 1.0.2; this guide doesn't cover any of those.
SD Card/mods/Mario 35/ folder and follow the steps below with the new zip.Fully shut the console down first, then eject the SD card and connect it to your PC (built-in reader or a USB adapter).
Unzip the patch you downloaded above on your PC. It contains a single Mario 35 folder, holding two mod folders, Mario35 Revamped Redirect and Mario35 Revamped Content, already laid out for SimpleModManager.
Copy the Mario 35 folder into SD Card/mods/, so it ends up at SD Card/mods/Mario 35/. Don't rename anything, merge it into an existing Mario 35 folder, or pull files out on their own, SimpleModManager reads the two mod folders exactly as they came in the zip.
Eject the SD card safely from your PC, put it back in the Switch, and power the console on into Atmosphère as you normally would.
Launch SimpleModManager from the Homebrew Menu. Find Super Mario Bros. 35 in its list, then tick/enable both Mario35 Revamped Redirect and Mario35 Revamped Content. SimpleModManager only applies mods you've enabled here, copying the files onto the card isn't enough on its own.
Start Super Mario Bros. 35 as normal. You'll connect straight to Mario 35 Revamped, no extra setup needed in-game.
SD Card/mods/Mario 35/, not nested inside an extra folder from unzipping.
